So, 2016, huh?
It really has been quite the year.
I think it’s one we’ll all remember.
I hope you’re still hanging in there in these polarized times, I’m not looking to get political on you, the writer’s job is not about that. If there’s a message in the books I write, the storyteller’s art relies on subtle magic, it’s not the megaphone and the stump.
But the world changes. Or does it? They say the more it changes, the more it stays the same. Whichever path you’ve been walking, I hope you can still walk a little with me. We’re all headed to a common destination, after all – the way of our forefathers. But not yet, my friends. Not yet.
For me as a writer, it’s been a mixed twelve months – some of ’em good, some less so. In a year that’s included relocating the family and finding a new home, my third full-length novel won’t now see a release till 2017, along with the series audiobooks, following a number of production changes. On the plus side, Wildburn (A Whicher Series Novella) is just out – and 2016 also saw An American Outlaw and An American Kill top the bestseller lists at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, i-Books and at Kobo.
Maybe the best part of this time of year is the chance to catch up (even sit down) with the people you love – and whatever life’s thrown at you, contemplate the chance to do it all again next year, try to do it all better.
So. I hope you’re looking to the future, still out there giving it your best. And I hope I’ll have your company in the year to come. The world awaits.
Light it up.
